We have been working with this 10 year old boy for 12 weeks. We implemented a program called EquiPower, Treating Trauma with the Power and Sensitivity of Horses. It is a CBT, trauma focused program. This child was not able to express himself in terms of his needs and discuss his trauma. By the end of 12 weeks, thanks to our amazing equine partners, he was able to articulate strategies to make himself feel safe and empowered. His mother reported his ability to say how he was feeling calmly and he improved dramatically in school. Amazing what a 1000 pound sentient being with four legs can do for us humans.
